Villa Ada

mappa villa ada b&b

Staying in our B & B you can visit Villa Ada is the second largest public park in Rome after Villa Doria Pamphili. It hosts numerous neoclassical buildings, including real lavilla (currently in use to the Egyptian diplomatic legations in Italy). It is located in the northern part of the town, north-west of the Via Salaria, in the Parioli district.

In addition to the royal villa, the park today is presented with numerous neoclassical buildings and eclectic (such as the Temple of Flora, the Villa Polissena, Royal Mews, the Swiss Chalet, the Gothic Tower).

Also interesting are the remains of industrial archeology, represented by the remains of the actual air-raid shelter (bunker) a gigantic driveway walkway, closed by armored doors, until the '60s, still contained the original furnishings and arming remains.

Another key element is the proximity to the ancient Via Salaria, the oldest among all the Roman consular and fundamental way to the salt trade. It was linked from the beginning to trade in this mineral that the early Romans had to import from the Adriatic Sea. Along this road are still evident several graves in the form of the tomb and the necropolis complex and Christian catacombs that open up in the ground. In fact, they remember the beautiful and ancient catacombs of Priscilla, whose route covers most under the territory of the villa.
